Volcanoes are all around the world.  There are three main places where you will find volcanoes;  Hot spots,Divergent plate boundaries (such as rifts and mid-ocean ridges), and Convergent plate boundaries.  If you stay away from these places you can avoid living next to volcanoes.  Some of the places you won't find volcanos are California,Arizona,New York,etc. Even though there are not volcanoes that are close to these places there still might be a super explosion,but that is very unlikely. A volcano can also form in those places but that is very unlikely also.
